Angst warning

It’s just one of those days. One of those days where every sad song on the radio seems written especially for you. One of those days where every error you make in your everyday goings on is amplified a thousand times. One of those days that start with you feeling like a failure and end with you feeling utterly useless. One of those days where you see your ex-boyfriend’s mom and remember how nervous she made you. One of those days when you realize how much you’ve grown up since then, and maybe you’re not that much of a failure. Then you realize you left a binder at school and boom, you’re worthless again.

One of those weeks, too. One of those weeks where you discover your retired next-door-neighbour smoking a big dutty Jamaican spliff like it’s okay, and you vaguely wonder what kind of insane connections he has. One of those weeks where your mother tells you you’re not ladylike enough and you begin to worry. One of those weeks where you feel ashamed of yourself for being ugly and trying to be near the beautiful things around you. One of those weeks where everything you eat feels like it’s making you uglier with each poisonous bite. One of those weeks where your ineptitude with the opposite gender comes shining through. Your ineptitude in everything else for that matter, too. One of those weeks where the fake smiles refuse to come out and play.

One of those months where nothing goes right, one of those years where everything is misaligned. You know, the kind where you’re stuck in a rut and nothing seems to help it.

Just one of those.

And we know it’ll all come out right in the wash, but right now it’s so easy to forget.
