No means no!

I was date-raped at Wind Ensemble by the last two movements of Pictures at an exhibition.

It seemed alright at first. The eighth movement, though odd and a little pushy (what with those two bars of thirty-second notes), was respectable enough. But the ninth… *shudder* The ninth forced me through things an inexperienced bassoonist should never have to encounter before she is ready. At first it was okay. I’d done cut time before, and the tempo wasn’t too fast… But the notes…. I wasn’t ready for anything that high above the line! But it got worse… If you want to preserve your modesty, I don’t think you should read any further.. Though I think you know what I’m talking about…

Yes… I’m talking about TENOR CLEF. It seemed okay at first, but movement nine kept forcing it on me! I tried to refuse… it’s not true that all the cool kids are playing tenor clef! I wasn’t ready! I was waiting ’till it was special! I tried to refuse Movement Nine’s advances! But I wasn’t strong enough. I feel… unclean.

Um, yeah. Tenor clef=Bitch.5….

I had a surreal moment today. I stared at a random person in the hall for several seconds. He stared back, we did a strange movement and walked away. No words were exchanged.

It’s gonna be one of those days weeks…
